История одного города (History of a Town) is a satirical novel by Mikhail Saltykov-Shchedrin, which parodies "Russian History in Biographies of Its Main Figures" by N.I. Kostomarov. The novel was written almost a century and a half ago, but little has changed in the Russian state: "…in Rome, the vile rabble was raging, and here we have bosses." The book is part of the "Masterpieces of Russian Classics" series.
