"Islam and Muslim Identity" is an educational and reference book primarily written in Urdu, translated into multiple languages, and widely accepted as a straightforward guide. It has seen millions of copies printed and distributed in Urdu alone and adopted as a textbook in various educational institutions. The current Bengali translation represents a segment of this lineage.

Authored by Molana Muhammad Munir Numani Rahimahullah, born in 1905 CE and passed away in 1997 CE, a renowned graduate of the Islamic University Darul Uloom Deoband in India. He had a successful career as an educator, prolific author of several influential books, and the editor of the widely circulated Urdu magazine "Al-Furqan." He was a disciple of Hazrat Molana Ilyas Rahimahullah, a renowned preacher of the faith, and a distinguished Sufi saint, Molana Abdul Qadir Raipuri Rahimahullah.
