Iñupiat Word Finder is an educational app designed to assist individuals in studying and learning the Iñupiaq language. Developed by SourceLab Inc., this app serves as a valuable resource for those interested in understanding and expanding their knowledge of the Iñupiaq vocabulary.

The Iñupiaq language has a distinct structure that differs significantly from English, making it challenging for English speakers to grasp the language. However, Iñupiat Word Finder aims to bridge this gap by providing a comprehensive dictionary of Iñupiaq words. It is important to note that due to the language's unique characteristics, there may not always be a direct word-for-word correspondence.

The creation of this app was made possible through a collaborative effort between the North Slope Borough, Iñupiat Heritage Center, and the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The financial support from the ECHO grant and the dedicated work of the team behind the Iñupiaq dictionary were instrumental in bringing this app to fruition.
