Internet Usage Research by UNIL is a Chrome extension designed specifically for researchers at the University of Lausanne. This free add-on allows pre-approved participants to contribute to studies on internet usage behavior by collecting data on their browsing activities. The extension tracks how users search for information, the websites they visit, and the duration of their visits.

Participants in the study have voluntarily enrolled and can choose to opt out at any time by uninstalling the extension. The data collected is securely transmitted to a private server and is only accessible to the research team. Each participant is assigned a unique, anonymized ID, ensuring that all collected data remains non-identifiable and maintains the privacy of users.
