The Constitution of India is the supreme law of the land. It is the first and the most important document that tells the people of India how they can establish a democracy and what kind of government they will have. It is a single, unified, and authoritative document. It is the supreme law of India, and as such, it is applicable to all the states and union territories. The Constitution of India was drafted by a Constitution-making Committee consisting of eminent jurists and political scientists, and it was ratified by the Constituent Assembly on December 11, 1983.

The Indian Constitution has been revised eight times since its first publication. The most recent amendment is the 26th, which was passed in 1999, and it changed the title of the document to the Indian Constitution (Articles 53 to 56). It also expanded the power of the states, and they are now allowed to make laws regarding foreign policy, national defense, commerce, and education.

The Indian Constitution is divided into three parts: the Preamble, the first three Articles, and the remaining Articles.

The Constitution of India also provides for a process of amending the Constitution, which is the first step in the process of making changes to the document.
