Immersive Horses is a free creatures mod for Skyrim that provides a complete overhaul of the horse system. Not only does it create new colors and themes for the animals, but you can have more than one in your herd. There are also new commands you can use to access the options menu while in the game. You can integrate the mod with other add-ons, specifically where they relate to creatures in Skyrim. 

There’s also an option to look at your horse’s inventory to move items around or in and out. Acquiring horses in Skyrim

In the Vanilla Skyrim game, you could only have one horse that you own, usually obtained by buying it at the stables. With Immersive Horses, you can now claim horses by stealing them, taming them in the wild, or adopting them. As soon as you acquire one, it automatically joins the others in your herd.

When you want to summon any of your horses, you’ll see a menu appear to select which one you want by your side. You can also dismiss one for a different one. However, you can’t adopt any horse added by another mod.

New command sets

You have several commands for horses at your disposal when you add Immersive Horses. You can ride, dismount, talk, show stats, adopt, or tell it to follow you. There’s also a command to tell it to wait for you if you don’t want it to follow you into danger. If you want to abandon one, you can change ownership.

Integration with other mods

You’ll find that Immersive Horses integrates with some other mods with similar functionality. For instance, you can add saddles to your herd with Craftable Horse Barding. There are some new textures you can place, which are available with Realistic Primitive Horse Breeds. 

Saddle up and ride

Immersive Horses is an excellent mod for lovers of Skyrim and horses. It adds new quality-of-life functions to the game, such as better spell casting and improved movements.

The greatest benefit is that you can add horses to your collection, which you can acquire by roaming the land to find rare or common ones.
