I'm on Observation Duty 5
Investigate haunted locations
Spot-the-difference horror game
I'm on Observation Duty 4 is a horror game from Notovia. This game gives players puzzles where they will have to identify the difference in the live camera footage. However, the anomalies range from intruders to furniture moving and ghosts appearing.
As the name suggests, I'm on Observation Duty 4 is the fourth installment in the I'm on Observation series. Some fans of the franchise might find the gameplay familiar, but this game goes back to its roots. Cameras are back, and the color is gone. Of course, there will be new anomalies and even new houses to observe.
The mechanics for I'm on Observation Duty 4 are simple. As with its predecessors, the goal is to watch live security footage and look for anomalies in the monitored rooms. An anomaly occurs when something moves, an extra object appears, or something disappears. Also, as this is a horror game, the appearance of intruders and ghosts are also considered anomalies. Once you see an anomaly, you should file a report.
Players must note that the appearance of anomalies is random. With this, you need acute eyes. You will also need to switch from room to room to spot the differences. Your goal is to report from 00:00 to 6:00 in-game time. It is game over if there are too many active and unreported anomalies. There is also a chance that some terrifying monsters will come as you observe.
As mentioned, this observation game returns to the black and white footage to give the game a lovely found footage feel. However, it also makes spotting the difference considerably more challenging since it looked dark even with the brightness adjusted to maximum. The game lacks background music. Basically, you will play it in silence except for some occasional sound effects.
All in all, I'm on Observation Duty 4 is a fun casual game to play. It offers mechanics similar to spot-the-difference games but with a creepy horror twist. It is simple to play, albeit the paranoia over what has changed in the room. The black-and-white footage also made the game more sinister, which makes it more challenging as the footage is darker overall.
