I Am Future is a simulation game from Mandragora. In this game, you play a male protagonist who woke up in a post-apocalyptic world following his six-year slumber. However, armed with a mechanical arm and an unperturbed attitude, he makes the most out of his situation.

I Am Future is a sandbox game at its core. You will build your home to serve as your base. Then explore your surroundings to collect an assortment of tools. You can also automate the housekeeping with your little helper robots. However, this is also a survival game, with dangers lurking in the dark. 

Thrive, don't just survive

As the name applies, I Am Future is a game set in the future. The once modern and alive city is now filled with flood and overgrown plants. Only the rooftops of the skyscraper are what remained livable. This post-apocalyptic world is where our male protagonist woke up. However, instead of being grim, he was unperturbed and decided to make the most out of his situation.

Unlike other survival games, the game encourages you to thrive in your situation. As mentioned, you have a mechanical arm, which can handily transform into tools. With this, you can turn the rooftops into a cozy home and functional base. Your base should not only be beautiful, but it also has to have a defense mechanism to survive the dangers that lurk during the night.

More than creating a home, you will also explore your surroundings to understand your situation. In doing so, you will also collect items to help you survive. As this is a life simulation, you will also do some household chores, such as cooking, fishing, and gardening. Eventually, you can create and recruit little helper robots to automate some of these chores.

Get an early start

With I am Future’s early access launch, players can now play a portion of the game and test out its current features and get a glimpse at the main storyline, as well as a number of side quests. While this launch doesn’t promise an entirely fleshed-out experience or incredibly smooth gameplay, there’s still a lot for players to look forward to as they delve into this apocalyptic world.

As future updates roll around, players will be able to play through seasonal events and unravel more of the storyline as they go on. You can also keep an eye out for new enemies, NPCs, and maps for you to explore, as well. Over time, more customization options will also be made available for both your playable characters and to decorate your own space within the game.

Exciting additions and gameplay enhancements

With its recent release, I Am Future: Cozy Apocalypse Survival opens up previously locked rooftops, providing players access to new, expansive zones. Among these is the carnival, a long-awaited location brimming with unique challenges and rewards. These additions not only enhance exploration but also enrich the survival experience with more diverse resources and hidden secrets. As players traverse these areas, they gain deeper immersion in this post-apocalyptic world. 

Additionally, the updated Smart Tower introduces Levels 3 and 4, unlocking every corner of Cosmopolis. With new modules like weather control and solar generators, players gain efficient tools for managing resources. To complement these upgrades, teleportation capabilities now enable faster movement across vast areas. This combination of features ensures smoother navigation, allowing players to focus on crafting, exploration, and progressing through the game’s challenges.

The update further enriches daily activities with new plants, crops, and fishing upgrades. Players can now access dozens of new recipes and catch rare fish using an upgraded rod. Social interactions are also enhanced with the introduction of Bombshell Barbara, a new character with a unique storyline. Her inclusion in the narrative adds depth to the game's relationship system, rewarding players who assist her with unique benefits.

All in all, I Am Future is a fantastic twist to the survival genre. It puts you in a post-apocalyptic world, but it does not display a grim situation. Instead, it shows you that you can still thrive in such a situation. Of course, not everything will be sunshine and rainbows. There are still dangers you still need to be wary about.
