HorSteal is a premium, hilarious physics-based action game where you control a horse determined to become a master art thief. The goal is to reject farm life, raid famous museums, and eventually steal the Mona Lisa. It has an intentionally difficult control scheme to create a sense of clumsy, slapstick comedy.

Between heists, you must practice skills like forgery and hacking at your hideout to avoid capture. Successful thefts allow for character upgrades, but managing your finances is key to avoiding total bankruptcy.

However, it has a punishing permadeath system that forces you to restart from the beginning once you lose three lives. This resets all progress and upgrades, which can be frustrating. Additionally, the lack of a depth-indicating shadow makes precision tasks like hitting specific keyboard keys with the horse's head unnecessarily frustrating.
