What is Hollie Guard?

Hollie Guard is a utility program created after Hollie Gazzard's unfortunate incident. In 2014, while working in a hair salon in Gloucester, Miss Gazzard was murdered by her former boyfriend. Her family developed the Hollie Guard software in her memory and to discourage future events from reoccurring. As said, the application was started to allow anybody to turn their smartphones into a personal security system.

There are two key modes in the application. Both seek to help you as you go to an unfamiliar place or travel by yourself. The first is called the Deterrent Mode, which shows everyone around you that you are in a risky situation. When activated, the app shows a clearly visible red warning panel. It also sends out a high-pitch warning and a blinking light to draw assistance. The app also uses your GPS to locate you and sends it to your 911 dispatcher. 

The Stealth Mode, meanwhile, quietly sends the alarm while displaying the home screen. This mode is helpful in circumstances where raising an alarm may raise the chance of injury. Other than warnings, the software also has offered additional tools, such as Journey and Meetings. Both features will notify your current position on your emergency contact list. There are also the Reports and Man Down features that allow you to log an incident and report whether you have a sudden crash, respectively.
