Hörtraining für CIs is a free Android app developed by Magnumandy. It allows auditory training for cochlear implant patients by directly connecting an Android device (phone or tablet) through a suitable approved connector cable. The app offers several test categories, including vowel or consonant tests, as well as two or three-syllable word tests. A unique feature of the app is the ability to set the training volume, which can be adjusted by the patient. The minimum volume is set as the "hearing threshold," and the maximum volume is set as the maximum volume used by the program. The adjustment is made easy using sliders, and a vowel token is played to test the corresponding volume. Test results are stored locally on the Android device and are not transmitted to any server. The results are logged for different volume levels, making it easy to identify any difficulties at certain levels. The results are presented graphically, and progress made over time is also visualized.
