High on Life 2 returns brighter and louder to its absurd sci-fi universe. Developed by Squanch Games, expect bigger set pieces, faster traversal, and even more aggressively silly weapon banter in this chatty alien action shooter. You are once again an intergalactic problem solver, pinballing between a galaxy-wide convention, an alien-run human zoo, and poking at a shady conspiracy. 

More guns, more banter 

High on Life 2 retains its gimmick of talking guns as they return with new faces and new tricks, and they still quip while you shoot. The headline twist is movement, since you now rip around on a skateboard, using grinds, kickflips, and momentum to stitch encounters together. That extra speed adds flow, opening combat routes and environmental puzzles. 

Environments are more colorful and varied than before, and level goals lean into sight gags and chaotic levels. The art direction doubles down on neon grime and weird biology, while the soundtrack and VO keep the energy high. However, the humor can be polarizing and repetitive for some after a period of playtime. Moreover, it can be overwhelming.
