Duas (supplications) are prayers for the most common needs and desires. They are often recited by a person to the Lord, in order to obtain his help and guidance. It is important for a person to have the desire to pray and to be able to say the exact words that are written in the Qur'an. In this way, the person can feel that the Lord is listening to him and is concerned about his well-being.

Duas are different from the prayers that are called Salat, which is the prayer performed five times a day. Duas are meant to be used for a specific purpose and are often used for a specific reason. For example, a person may wish to be healed and may be suffering from a disease. In this case, he may need to pray for the cure of his disease.
