The gods, the dragons, and the heroes

The premise of the game is set on a fantastical land created by six Gods. When these Gods made the land, they also made creatures to keep the balance of the world on their behalf. They named these creatures Dragons. And so, the Dragons became the representative of the Gods on land, and the humans worshipped them.

However, the worshipping from humans get into the head of the dragons, and they began to feel superior. Their arrogance grew, and instead of keeping the balance of the world, they began destroying it. Amidst the chaos and despair, six heroes appear and battle the dragons.

The players will take on the role of the heroes who will battle the dragons to save humanity. Heroes Will have more than 60 heroes, each with their unique stories, characteristics, and power, which will be helpful in your quest to vanquish the dragons. You can obtain a hero in two ways, by summoning or by collecting Hero Soulstones. Please note, however, that the summoning does not always guarantee a hero. More the number of soulstones required to get a hero depends on the base number of stars of the hero you want to get. No heroes start with more than three stars.

The game and its mechanics

Heroes Will is a solid strategy RPG. It comes with a massive content that includes a story mode, a guild mode, a guild raid, and a guild war. Each of the modes comes with high-quality character design and background based on the advantages of 2D gaming graphics. The game also offers full voice acting on all characters, NPC, story text, and tutorials. All of which are in high-quality audio. 

In addition to a massive content, players will also be happy to know that the game offers easy game control. The Heroes Will provides a one-touch skill system that is optimized for mobile gaming, so you won’t have to worry about your characters dying because of slow or unresponsive controls. 

As mentioned, to progress in the game, you need to collect heroes. But you can never win against the dragons without leveling up your characters. To do so, you need to use incarnates, crystals, soulstones, gold, and skill points. You can collect these currency and skill points throughout the game. Or you can pay for them in the game’s stores. 

Don’t take this the wrong way, Heroes Will is a free-to-play game, and yes you can power up your characters and their weapons by just playing. But, if you want to level up faster, you can get what you need through in-app purchases. And this is where the problem arises. 

The app will force you to pay to make your game more enjoyable. Do you want to have a new hero? You can pay for gems that you can use for summoning. However, a summon does not guarantee a hero. You might get a random fragment of equipment or characters. Then, you’ll need to summon dozens of fragments to actually get the hero. It also doesn’t help the game’s cause by inserting annoying popup ads to force the players into buying stuff now and then. 

Lastly, you cannot play the game without logging in using your Facebook account. If you don’t want your social media page connected to your gaming profile, then it will be a problem.

Good but not great

In terms of graphics and gameplay, Heroes Will is good. The high-definition rendering of the design and audio helps the game. However, team composition is a bit restrictive. You cannot choose the characters, and you’ll only have to rely on what will come out of summoning. Worse, summoning doesn’t always give you a hero, but stuff you don’t need. More, the game’s insistence that you buy gems makes it a pay-to-win game rather than a free one.
