Doom awaits in this gritty shooter game
Hands of Necromancy is a first-person shooter Metroidvania game, inspired by classics such as Heretic and Quake II. In this game, players will fill in the role of a necromancer who dreams of becoming the master of necromancy. Unleash carnage as you fight your way through groups of enemies in your quest to achieve mastery.
The game replicates the feeling of Quake and the shooter mechanics of games such as DOOM 64, combining the best of the trio into one neatly packed game. Players will find themselves immersed in this strange but scary world in the shoes and perspective of an adept necromancer.
Necromancy is key to victory
Unleash carnage as you fight your way through groups of enemies in your quest to achieve mastery. Seeking power, you will have to grow by learning powerful forms of dark magic as you make your way through stages filled with countless enemies. Unleash what you have learned and rev up the intensity to 100, leave no survivors, or turn them into your undead minions.
Players can explore various and very detailed environments such as the countryside, forests, cemeteries, castles, ice caves, volcanic lands, and more. Beware of the danger that lurks in these landscapes though as you’ll find enemies all up against you. You must constantly prove your worth against these enemies. Summon the dead, destroy your enemies, and conquer the realm to become the ultimate necromancer.
Despite its great gameplay and art direction, the game only lasts seven hours or less depending on your gameplay style, and it requires players to be quick on their feet so it may not be suitable for some. Regardless of the short gameplay time, that cannot be said the same for its replayability, which will surely entertain players even after the game is finished.
A retro thrill with unique twists
Retro Horror Story effectively combines 90s aesthetics with spine-chilling gameplay, making it a standout for horror fans seeking nostalgia and suspense. The maze and liminal spaces build a tense atmosphere that keeps players on edge. While its engaging puzzles and eerie storytelling captivate, the game's brevity and diminished replayability after solving it may leave some wanting more. It’s an experience worth trying for a brief, nostalgic scare.
