Operate a ham factory with friends
HAM: The Game is an adventure game where players work together in a ham factory to fulfill orders. It’s a co-op title where one plays the manager in charge of controls and communication systems, while the rest are workers who handle the physical labor. It requires teamwork and coordination to succeed.
HAM: The Game features endless gameplay, where progressing increases the difficulty. Each day brings in new equipment and tools for you and your friends to use to help meet tougher quotas. The factories also have different layouts for variety, keeping the experience fresh as no two sessions are the same.
Cooperate, or everything falls apart
In HAM: The Game, your team has to operate conveyor belts, repair broken equipment, and load ham onto containers before time runs out. There is a proximity voice chat feature that lets you communicate with other players to get the job done. The manager can even shout through the intercom in their office to relay instructions or just scream at their workers if they make mistakes.
At the end of each day, players have the option to vote to replace the manager if they’ve been doing a horrible job — something to take into consideration since the difficulty escalates with more orders and tighter deadlines as days go by. There is no end to the chaos. The objective is to see how long you and your team can last handling stressful situations while keeping the factory up and running.
As the game relies on communication to succeed, playing with random people online can disrupt gameplay due to miscommunication. It’s best to play with a tight-knit group of friends instead to avoid heated arguments and ensure everyone stays coordinated. Having friends also prevents boredom, since the gameplay can get very repetitive — it’s a constant cycle of producing hams and shipping orders.
Best played with friends
Overall, HAM: The Game is yet another intriguing co-op title to try out with friends. It requires effective communication to successfully progress through the game. However, the real fun comes when the factory begins falling apart, and you and your friends are screaming and panicking due to the chaos happening around you. With endless progression, different factory layouts, and dozens of equipment to try, the game provides countless hours of thrill and excitement.
