The gentleman vampire joins GGST
Guilty Gear: Strive - Additional Character 13: Slayer is a premium utility that introduces Slayer, the vampiric gentleman, to the fighting game by Arc System Works, GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-. Still accompanied by his lovely wife, Sharon, he uses his supernatural powers to string powerful combos. Additionally, with a moveset that covers mobility, he can quickly close gaps or evade enemy attacks.
As the last character DLC for Season 3, Guilty Gear: Strive - Additional Character 13: Slayer can also be unlocked by purchasing the Season Pass. His impressive movement and attack animation show that his STRIVE return does not disappoint, although he’s also a bit more comedic compared to his previous incarnations.
Cool, dignified, and fun to play
Guilty Gear: Strive - Additional Character 13: Slayer brings a much-anticipated character to GGST. He’s the standard gentleman vampire design-wise: a two-part gray suit, a monocle, and a golden pocket watch depending on the costume. Some of his character moves are designed to adjust his cool and dignified appeal to the more comedic nature of STRIVE compared to previous games — from his jump animation to his response to Faust’s Overdrive.
As a playable character, Slayer is best described as a heavy hitter, with complementing bursts of speed that greatly improve his mobility. Additionally, his throw move Bloodsucking Universe restores a part of his health and deals bonus damage to his next attack. His back dash even has a counter move that lets him quickly regain lost ground and even deal damage.
As a DLC, you’ll need the base GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE- game. Additionally, make sure to update the game to prevent any issues or glitches. Players who have already availed of the Season 3 Pass no longer have to purchase the standalone DLC. Content-wise, the only concern that Slayer fans have might be the added comedy, which is in line with the game’s overall direction, but makes him less serious.
A good closure to GGST Season 3
Guilty Gear: Strive - Additional Character 13: Slayer enhances GGST with his cool, dignified vampire persona, blending seamlessly with the game's comedic undertones. A heavy hitter with bursts of speed, his unique abilities like Bloodsucking Universe and a counter-back dash add strategic depth. Ensure your base game is updated for optimal performance. Season 3 Pass holders get Slayer automatically, but new players must purchase the DLC.
