Good Friday is a Christian holiday commemorating Jesus' crucifixion and death at Calvary. It is also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday, Great and Holy Friday, and Black Friday. It is observed as part of the Paschal Triduum during Holy Week. It is a fasting day in which Catholics must abstain from eating meat. On Good Friday, there is traditionally no Mass or Eucharist celebration. A liturgy may still be held, and communion may be taken from hosts consecrated on Holy Thursday.
