Guardians of Cloudia is a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) by Neocraft Limited. This free-to-play game transports players to a fantasy universe where they will experience exciting missions with the characters that live there. With your magical abilities, you will explore the lands of Cloudia and discover every nook and cranny.

Guardians of Cloudia features a combat style that will remind players of League of Legends. However, unlike the popular MOBA game, this one features one of the worst mechanics in roleplaying games: level gating. It also nags players to do something specific to unlock new levels.

How do you play this game?

Guardians of Cloudia is your typical MMORPG. Before traveling to Cloudia, you will have to select a character class. There are five classes available, covering melee, ranged, physical, magical, and all types. Each class has at least two advanced classes, and you can even DIY your own build with a free skill combination. As you progress, your hero will level up and acquire new skills.

Another interesting aspect of the game is that there are over a hundred different pets that you can collect. These pets can then accompany you as you explore the dungeons of Cloudia. Like pokemon, each one has its abilities and will change appearance as it evolves. More than pets, you can also find travel companions by creating associations with other players. Doing so will be beneficial in completing missions.

However, as mentioned, the game suffers from blatant level gating. One can clear the main campaign in just a few hours. What makes it longer is that level caps take weeks or longer to lift. Additionally, there is not much opportunity to explore the dungeons as it automatically moves the player to the next destination. Acquiring new monsters is also not complicated as the game uses a ubiquitous gacha system. 

Is the game good?

Overall, Guardians of Cloudia offers everything that you may expect from an MMORPG. It offers various missions that you can complete and dungeons to explore. It also has a collection of monsters that you can tame. However, unlike other similar games, it has a poor gameplay design. There is not much challenge to it, and there's no way for you to progress unless you listen to the game's prompts.
