Guard Dialogue Overhaul SE is a free mod for the open-world Skyrim Special Edition role-playing game. Like other mods, such as Relationship Dialogue Overhaul SE, Guard Dialogue Overhaul introduces many new dialogue options for the NPCs in Skyrim.

NPC guards patrol the streets of Skyrim's many settlements. Like all NPCs, they can engage in dialogue with the player's character. Unfortunately, the dialogue of guards seldom changes. That means by the end of a long play-through, repetitive and unrealistic conversations begin to bore some players. Guard Dialogue Overhaul solves this problem by modifying the guard's voice lines.

Reveals hidden lines

Guard Dialogue Overhaul SE (abbreviated as GDO SE) makes rarer dialogue more likely to occur. In the core game, guards have dialogue lines for responding to certain conditions. GDO SE changes the conditions for the lines, making dialogue easier to trigger. The mod allows the guards to comment more often when the character's skills or status changes.

Removes old lines

In addition to revealing more of the rarer dialogue lines, the Guard Dialogue Overhaul SE Skyrim mod gradually phases out some of the older dialogue lines as players advance in the game. For example, guards berate and belittle characters early in the game, but they become more respectful as characters become more powerful.

Small but big improvement

Although the GDO SE Skyrim game mod enhancements might seem minor, coming across guard dialogue is frequent.
