The Iconic Half-Life Weapon

The idea behind GTA 5 Gravity Gun comes from Half-Life 2. The Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator or called as Gravity Gun is originally used for lifting heavy objects, as well as handling hazardous materials. In Half-Life 2, Gordon Freeman receives the Gravity Gun at Black Mesa East by Alyx Vance. At first glance, the Gravity Gun is more of equipment rather than a lethal weapon. But due to its destructive capabilities and it’s an invaluable weapon that helped Gordon fight the Combine. Since then, the Gravity Gun became Freeman’s trademark weapons. The Gravity Gun is best described as a tractor beam-type gun. It lifts objects whether they are lightweight or heavy. Another feature of the gun is the ability to punt the lifted object with an energy blast. The energy blast can be also shot even without lifting the object. The potential damage coming from the physics-based gun depends on the object’s weight and mass. Flinging a heavier object like metal barrels can kill enemies.

Adding The Mod To GTA V

The mod replaces the Rail Gun from GTA V once installed. Players can lift any objects and NPCs, as well as throw them at high velocity. The physics mechanics of the Gravity Gun from Half-Life 2 is applied. The larger the object, the greater the damage dealt. Liftable objects range from animals to airplanes.
