The game is set in a harsh medieval world, where a cataclysmic volcanic eruption destroyed all crops and led to the fight over diminishing resources. The player takes on the role of a ruler who needs to secure the most profitable building sites and conquer the villages of their enemies to become the most powerful ruler.
