GPD - Grupo de Plantio Direto is a free Android app developed by 4Farm. The app helps farmers evaluate the importance of measuring each row of their plantation and ensures better plantability. The app measures longitudinal distribution through some parameters, including the coefficient of variation (CV%) and regularity of distribution (acceptable, double, and faults). The coefficient of variation is defined by the measure of dispersion of spacings between seeds and/or plants relative to the mean. The higher the CV% value, the greater the variation in relation to the mean, increasing the irregularity of distance between plants. Another parameter of quality of plantability is the regularity of plant distribution, which can be classified as acceptable, double, and faults. Acceptable is when the distance between plants is greater than 0.5 and less than 1.5 times the ideal distance. Double is when the distance between plants is less than 0.5 times the ideal distance, and faults are when the distance between plants is greater than 1.5 times the ideal distance. Causes of lack of uniformity in planting range from planting speed, problems with the seed dispenser disk, general seeder adjustment, uniform seed deposition depth, planting furrow closure, seeder maintenance, among others.
