Gorogoa is a puzzle game in which you combine elements of different images to create small stories that let you advance to the next puzzle. Each puzzle consists of hand-drawn images created by the game's designer, Jason Roberts. Silent and evocative, the game consists of a series of haunting images that gradually begin to form into something more.

A window into a magical world

Like many puzzle games, Gorogoa has very simple gameplay mechanics. You're presented with a four-panel grid containing a series of images, some of them representing strange, fantastic vistas while others show scenes of everyday life. The images aren't just static, though; you can zoom in to some of them or remove elements from others and move them to blank spaces in your grid. You can even move elements from one picture into another or join two pictures together. For instance, if you move a door from one picture onto a wall in another, it might allow a character in the second picture to walk through it. Each set of pictures interacts differently, and determining how requires some creative thinking and a fair amount of trial and error. The art is gorgeous, and goes a long way to establishing the game's unique atmosphere.
