Free mixed media player
GOM Player is a free or purchasable multimedia player. Created by Gretech Corporation, GOM Player is available on Apple Mac and Microsoft Windows PC's 32-bit and 64-bit systems. Developed in South Korea, GOM has become one of the best global media platforms. The application includes a multitude of language options: English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, etc.
Is GOM Player Plus free?
The publishers released a purchasable version of the standard GOM Player, which is the Plus. While the two frameworks are similar, there are still some differences. The Plus title has an enhanced resolution quality, as the platform was specifically created for 64-bit systems.
People purchase the Plus variant to have a more aesthetically-pleasing application; the purchasable software is advertisement-free and includes upgraded customizable skin options. Additionally, the consumers of the GOM Plus app receive expedited technical support and priority in events and promotions.
The freeware version plays a variety of media sources and includes file formats within GOM: Audio CD, AVI, DVD, FLV, MOV, MP4, MKV, WMV, etc. The video player is able to present damaged files and content that is being downloaded. GOM Player will search for codecs if the program does not find them within their built-in archive.
How do I install GOM Player?
During the installation process, follow the prompts and—after reading the license agreement—agree to the terms to continue. While the free version of GOM is safe for any desktop, there are third-party programs that are offered to people during the setup process. Within the "Install Additional Software" pages, different applications with brief descriptions will be presented that can be accepted or declined.
To ensure a safer user experience, do not download the recommended apps in case they are malware. The GOM Player is installed with the default user interface appearance. To change the UI, right-click anywhere on the screen and tap on "Preferences...". Within the top menu bar of the pop-up window, select the second tab: Skin. Within this area, there will be a Skin List with prepared designs available.
What is GOM Player?
Underneath the main screen on the user interface is the timeline where the media can be adjusted. On the left of the video playback track are the time displays; when users hover above the line, they are able to see the time stamp the content is playing at without having to click on that spot and disarrange the setup of TV shows, movies, music, etc.
The volume is adjustable to the right of the playback line. Underneath the line, the GOM Player company displays the numerical level that the volume is at, which can go noticeably beyond 100 to 150. There is an icon to the far right below the adjustable audio strip that is the Playlist button. Upon clicking this option, a pop-up window will display relevant playlists.
Additionally, there are the standard Play, Pause, Forward, and Backward buttons to the left side of the UI. To immediately start and stop the media, press the Spacebar; while watching videos and subtitles at the same time, use this method to instantly pause the media to finish reading the content.
How do I put subtitles on GOM Player?
Within the "Preferences..." window, the GOM Player community can access the subtitle features; click on Subtitles within the left panel. Under "Display Method," select the first option to display the subtitles on a TV, which is "Display on video (TV-OUT)." The appearance of the subtitles can be altered within this tab: color, font, opacity, size, spacing, etc.
Alternative music and video file tools
KMPlayer, Media Player Classic, PotPlayer, and VLC Media Player are alternative multimedia players compared to GOM. All of the aforementioned applications are freeware and include VR videos with a 360-degree viewing capacity. Media Player Classic, PotPlayer, and VLC Player do not recommend remote installation options within the download process, which results in a more pleasurable UX.
Intuitive mixed media service
GOM Player is developed for the Mac and Windows system users to enjoy. One of the key aspects that sets this player apart is the ability to search for codecs. Additionally, GOM can often play damaged media files. Sought after features like VR and snapshot abilities are included in the app, as well.
The developers are consistently updating the application. Sometimes, the updates are done in the form of new versions: Pro. Visit their site to monitor the new updates' information and read their privacy policy.
