A game about knowledge and belongingness

Ginger is a premium adventure game for PC developed by Kevin Du. It is a narrative-driven experience wherein players will go on a philosophical journey to try to answer how knowledge is created and shared in the world. They will witness a story unfold in the pages of a book wherein images will help give meaning to words.

Knowledge through language

Ginger is a game about knowledge and how it can be made to proliferate through the power of language and understanding. You will embark on a journey to follow a story written inside a dictionary, wherein words are pronounceable, but you have to find their meaning through their correlations with each other and accompanying images.

There are over 1000 word entries for you to discover and make sense of as you slowly unravel its long, intertwined story. Suffice it to say, this is an experience for the faint of heart or short of patience, as it requires a lot of time and effort to reach its inevitable conclusion. As such, some players will be put off by this fact and not be able to complete the game.

Unique and powerful

All in all, Ginger stands out as being one of the more unique and interesting narrative-driven game experiences right now with its unique premise and approach to storytelling. It will not be for everyone with how much it asks from the player, effort- and time-wise, but if you have the patience, it's worth experiencing through to the end.
