Garten Vangan is a free-to-play adventure game from playducky.com, built around the increasingly popular horror franchise Garten of Banban. True to the source material, this survival horror experience is also set in a kindergarten. Mascots of Banban and his friends will be hunting you down, forcing you to run and hide.

Also rendered in full 3D, Garten Vangan is a satisfying unofficial mobile port of the Banban horror games. This game, however, is a lot simpler without the complex puzzles and tools of the original. Other similar games include the Garten of Banban Project and Banben Fight: Horror Garten.

Escape from Banban and guests

As mentioned, the premise of Garten Vangan is to escape the haunted learning facility. It sports a different map than the original, which suits its simplified gameplay. It’s still a massive kindergarten with serious office vibes. The goal is for you to find the exit in this corporate-looking maze, all while avoiding the various monsters. You cannot outrun them for long, requiring you to get creative in dodging them.

A fun addition is that aside from the original monsters, there are a lot of guest characters. Aside from Banban and the other monsters from the original game, there are also a host of enemies inspired by pop and internet culture. Aside from the knockoff Among Us crewmate, Amogus, you have other characters such as Shrek and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. However, they have essentially the same animation features.

The game also features various game modes that add excitement to the game. Unfortunately, there are a couple of restrictions. One is the lack of other tools in the original game, such as drones and puzzles. Also, the game still seems to be in its early stages with its wonky controls and visual clipping issues. There are instances where characters get stuck on doors or corners.

A passable mobile iteration

Overall, Garten Vangan remains a fun unofficial port of the Garten of Banban game. It strips down the game, losing some of its more challenging mechanics such as puzzle-solving and remotely controlling a drone. Still, the tension and the fright are still here. The wider cast of villains makes the game unexpectedly creepy. Despite its technical restrictions and the enemies having the same animations, it’s still worth a shot.
