Formula 1 Overcoming Obstacle is a free game in which the player must maneuver a racing car past an ongoing array of obstacles. You have a choice between moving the car or destroying the obstacles. Be warned: many of the lethal objects are indestructible.

Those expecting a straightforward Formula 1 title like F1 Legends might be surprised by Formula 1 Overcoming Obstacle. The 2D format and emphasis on destroying descending obstacles make it at least as close to Space Invaders as it is to a traditional racing sim.

Jump between three lanes

Formula 1 Overcoming Obstacle is a 2D top-down game. There are three lanes, and you can hop your car between them by pushing the left and right arrow icons. The idea is to dodge the obstacles that appear on the track. The longer you go without crashing, the higher your score will be.

Dodge or destroy obstacles

It is possible to destroy obstacles by pressing them. This works on most obstacle types (including bombs, wheels, rocks, oil spills, and more), but there is one exception — the shiny metal obstacle is indestructible and must be dodged. Most players will find that destroying obstacles is generally easier than dodging them.

Basic gaming

Formula 1 Overcoming Obstacle is very basic in terms of both graphics and gameplay. The car itself isn't animated, and it simply "jumps" from lane to lane. This affects the gameplay, as it becomes too easy to accidentally hop into an obstacle that has almost passed out of sight.

Children might enjoy it

The simplicity of Formula 1 Overcoming Obstacle has little to offer older players, but children might enjoy it if they can get past the fiddly controls. The possibility of unlocking new cars by racking up high scores adds a little replay value, although the cars all look very similar and do not affect gameplay.
