Forager is an adventure game developed by HopFrog and published by Humble Bundle. The game features exploration, gathering materials, fighting enemies, crafting valuable items and building massive properties.

Getting More from the World 

Forager received a massive overhaul after its successful free prototype during a game development jam. The game was initially remembered as keeping players to play longer as they acquire more materials and defeat more enemies. It has similar top-down gameplay and old-school graphics of Legends of Zelda, as well as the exploration, foraging and crafting mechanics of Terraria. The game comes with new contents, improved game system, and exclusive features. Players begin with exploring lands and various biomes. Each biome has a different environment like grasslands, deserts, mountains, and volcanoes. They will have to confront and fight monsters with the new combat mechanics. Battles include dungeon mobs, raid monsters, invasions at night time and bosses. On the other hand, there are friendly NPC companions that players can interact via talk or trade. There are special materials that can be acquired by trade. Players can also farm plants and domesticate animals other than foraging materials. There are ruins to be discovered, filled with artifacts for players to keep and display at the museum. Completing puzzles will reward players with secrets. Players can also learn alchemy and read runic inscriptions for performing magic. Their character can grow by acquiring skills with the free-form upgrade system. Every time players learn new skills they unlock items, infrastructures or even game modifiers. They can expand their initial properties by purchasing them. The game includes random events that can affect the gameplay for the sake of fun or extra challenge.

Forager has vast improvements from its initial build. Players can become an explorer, craftsman, farmer, merchant, builder, and adventurer. There are secrets yet to be unraveled by players. They can expand not only their skills but also their own properties.
