FoodSwitch is a free iPhone app developed by FoodSwitch Pty Ltd. It falls under the Lifestyle category, specifically Health & Fitness. This app allows users to make healthier food choices by simply scanning barcodes to get nutrition facts and discover healthier alternatives.

With over a million recognized barcodes in its extensive database, FoodSwitch makes it fast and easy to access the nutritional information of packaged food products. Users can view details such as energy, fat, sugar, salt content, and more. The app also offers a Nutritional Tracker to help users monitor the nutritional quality of packaged foods.

One of the standout features of FoodSwitch is its Health Star rating mode and Traffic Light Labels mode. These modes allow users to quickly assess the overall healthiness of a food product based on key components. The higher the star rating or the greener the traffic light, the healthier the food is considered.

FoodSwitch goes beyond just providing information. It also encourages community engagement by allowing users to share photos of items that cannot be scanned, helping to expand the app's product database. Additionally, the app offers an easy way to identify products containing gluten.

Accredited by ORCHA with a review score of 74% in 2020, FoodSwitch is a trusted source for health app advice. Its data is used by governments and health organizations worldwide. If you're looking to develop healthy habits, make better food choices, and access credible and impartial information about packaged foods, FoodSwitch is a must-have app.
