FIRSTCALC is a free iPhone app designed to assist Electrical Contractors, Designers, Electricians, and Lighting Specialists in selecting the most suitable cables for their projects. The app provides a range of calculation tools that require the input of load current, length, volt drop %, phase, fixed or flexing, core type, and installation conditions in Cable Selection. It then generates a list of the most appropriate Firstflex cables to meet those requirements.

In addition to Cable Selection, the app provides tools to calculate Voltage Drop, Length, Load Current, Motor Current, and KVA to Amps. It also includes a Chemical Rating guide that provides guidance on selecting equipment for appropriate chemical compatibility. Results can be saved to “My List” and stored or emailed with an attached datasheet.

It is important to note that calculations provided by the app are based on New Zealand standards and may not be suitable outside of New Zealand.
