Fireballs In The Sky is a free Android app developed by Digital Media Unit that aims to turn your smartphone into a scientific instrument that can quickly and easily record all the relevant information from a fireball sighting. The app allows users to pinpoint the altitude and azimuth of the start and end of a fireball, build their own fireball, add any other notes or details to the sighting report, and keep track of their sightings and those of other users.

In addition, Fireballs In The Sky is also your way to access the Desert Fireball Network (DFN) research project at Curtin University, a network of cameras that image the whole sky every 30 seconds. The app will keep you up-to-date with fireball news and events and allow you to view some of the incredible images from the DFN cameras in our picture gallery. The app also provides information on upcoming meteor showers and allows users to locate them in the sky. Overall, Fireballs In The Sky is a must-have app for anyone who is interested in tracking fireballs and meteor showers, and wants to be part of a major new research project.
