Fate/Extra Record is a 2026 remake of the original 2010 PSP RPG Fate/EXTRA, designed for the Nintendo Switch. This updated version features enhanced graphics and a reimagined story that immerses players in the virtual Holy Grail War within the Moon Cell. Players take on the role of Hakuno Kishinami, an amnesiac protagonist, navigating a battle-royale format to uncover their identity while forming alliances with one of three Servants: Nero, Tamamo, or Emiya.

Significant gameplay changes include the replacement of the original rock-paper-scissors battle system with a strategic command-based system, allowing for deeper tactical gameplay. The game retains its dungeon-crawler essence while incorporating visual novel elements. Scheduled for release in Spring 2026, Fate/Extra Record serves as an accessible entry point into the Fate/Extra universe, distinct from the Fate/stay night timeline where magic has disappeared.
