Fantasy Tree is a free puzzle app that uses the faces of various colorful characters to create fantastical family trees. The aim is to disentangle the branches so that you can work out which faces are the parents.

The game belongs to a popular genre of face-themed puzzles. Other apps of this sort include Make Expression - Face puzzle. However, the app has some variety. Plus, you might find yourself playing something closer to Rolling Paint - Color Maze Game in certain stages.

Spot the parents

A typical puzzle in Fantasy Tree involves a set of emoji-like faces, including one that is a hybrid of others. Your job is to identify which faces are the "parents" of the hybrid. So, for example, if the hybrid is a zombie with pink hair, you'll need to look for a zombie and a pink-haired face.

A variety of puzzles

While most of the puzzles follow the above formula, there are exceptions. Some puzzles are timing-based and require you to hit a timer at the right moment. Doing this will reveal a specific face or navigate a face past a moving obstacle. Other puzzles involve maneuvering a face through a maze or identifying a face by its outline.

Unlockable features

As you finish puzzles, you'll be rewarded in two ways. One is through virtual money, which you can spend on building "houses" that appear on a cartoon island between levels. They serve no gameplay purpose but look nice. The other reward is player status: you start as a baby and move to a kid, and so forth, until the finish.

A simple game

While Fantasy Tree has some variety, all of its puzzles are very easy. The simplicity makes it appropriate for children, but kids might get impatient due to the number of ads. The faces themselves look good, but aside from this, the graphics are rather basic.
