Time-based roguelike tower defense

Everwarder is a single-player strategy game set in a procedurally generated world. It immerses you in a fresh perspective of tower defense roguelike, playing as a mystical guardian tasked with protecting a crystal where your friend is trapped. Developed by qLate, it’s available on PCs.

Everwarder is similar to games like The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Age of Darkness: Final Stand, Halls of Torment, and PlateUp!—wherein it gives players strategy and survival gameplay with roguelike mechanics and procedurally generated levels. This game has vibrant neon-infused graphics and offers a tutorial at the beginning.

Fight the darkness and protect the crystal

In Everwarder, you’ll enter a procedurally generated world surrounded by darkness. Here, you’ll step into the shoes of a mystical guardian with a mission to protect your most precious possession—a crystal with your friend stuck inside. In this game, as the darkness expands, more enemies come on your way. It’s up to you as a player how you’ll fight them and set up your defenses.

The game allows you to move freely and explore as you try to protect the crystal and expand your way in a changing map. It also ensures that every run feels unique by offering various challenges and evolving mechanics, making no two sessions feel the same. In every run, you can collect minerals and unlock new abilities, artifacts, and tools that can make you stronger.

As the game has a time-based survival concept, time is also your enemy here. Every second, your enemies grow stronger just like you. With this, you must make sure to get new resources and boosts and upgrade your defenses. With the game’s randomly generated levels, it makes sure that every upgrade tweaks your experience too. However, if you want intense strategy games, you might want to check out other alternatives.
