The Gateway native messaging host extension operates as an interface between web pages and native applications within the Chrome and Edge browsers. This add-on is specifically designed to facilitate the use of locale resources from web applications, enhancing the interaction between the web and local environments. It is important to note that this extension does not function independently; it requires the presence of a compatible native application and appropriate configuration settings to operate effectively.

As a test version, the extension is currently not meant for general use and is classified as partially public, indicating that it may not be fully stable or feature-complete. Users should exercise caution and only install it if they are aware of its intended purpose and the necessary prerequisites for its successful operation.
