Classic adventure

With its standard high fantasy cast of dwarves and elves, magic potions and enchanted armour, Eternal Lands is a fairly typical example of an MMORPG from the early days of the internet. Released back in 2003, the game has received continuous small updates for nearly 15 years and so has a decent amount of lore and cosmetic features. It retains the basic dial-up focus of its early days, with simple graphics and tiny system requirements. The levelling system is based around individual skills, any of which can be improved to earn character upgrades. Eternal Lands is one of those online games which never really became widely popular, which has resulted in a fairly small player base. This small number of players, however, are often extremely friendly and receptive to new players, great for those wishing to find a community rather than advanced gameplay.

Eternal Lands offers a lightweight free MMORPG experience. The dated graphics and content provide a nostalgia hit for those who still remember dial up, but the overall experience may not be satisfying for most.
