The mod also adds new sound effects to complement the new models.

The mod adds new units and structures at different tiers, including experimental ones. It also features balance changes that cover almost everything, from build times and unit costs to adding or removing abilities. Moreover, it gives the announcer new voice lines corresponding with the new units and other gameplay elements. Experimental units have voice lines, too, so they don’t break gameplay immersion. 

The graphics look the same and the core gameplay feels similar, but you will have to re-learn the game if you use this mod. Moreover, you shouldn’t expect a smooth, well-polished experience since this mod isn’t an enhancement or unofficial patch. Expect issues from the base game to persist and experience new bugs, given the volume and intensity of the changes this mod applies.

Is it worth playing? 

The only way to know whether you will enjoy this total conversion is by trying it. Eternal Conflict Mod alters so many things about the base game that even those who enjoyed the base game aren’t guaranteed to have a good time. However, the developer is actively working on the mod, so it’s likely to get better as time goes by.
