The Institut géographique national (IGN) is a geospatial research institution based in Paris, France. The IGN has a mission to facilitate the use of geographic information for the development of infrastructures, the planning and management of natural resources, the creation of efficient and balanced urban centers, the creation of accessible and liveable regions, and to promote the valorisation of territories.

The IGN was created in 1985 as an independent institution by an Act of Parliament, and is today one of the leading information and documentation services in Europe. The organization is also a member of the Intergovernmental Committee for European Rural Development (ICRD), and is attached to the Office français du bâti (OFB).

Espace collaboratif IGN is an interactive platform for the collaboration between the public and private sectors. This platform allows you to report changes and errors in the geospatial data used by the IGN. In addition, you can also report the presence of problems or errors in the geospatial data of the georeferenced data used by the IGN.
