Escape Academy is a puzzle game based on the popular escape room concept. The player takes on the role of a student at the eponymous academy, where they will train to become the ultimate escapist by completing a series of escape rooms.

The challenges on offer come in a number of flavors, including solving number and shape problems and even hacking servers, similar to Hacker: Cyber Warfare. Gameplay is also available as both single-player and co-operative multiplayer modes. Multiplayer can be both online and locally through shared/split-screen co-op.

An escape room simulator

Escape Academy is, for all intents and purposes, an escape room simulator. The player will complete several varied escape rooms throughout the course of their education at the academy in their quest to become the ultimate escapist. The game takes place from a first-person perspective, and the player must interact with items and puzzles by looking at them and clicking.

A variety of visual and audio themes

Each escape room has a distinct feel and look, providing plenty of aesthetic variation. The available rooms include high-tech server rooms, cozy studies, dingy offices, and more. The game also features an original soundtrack and sound design by Doseone, who has many popular game soundtracks on their record.

A puzzle game with exploration elements

The escape room puzzles are, of course, the main attraction of Escape Academy, but there is also the academy’s campus, which the player is free to explore. The game features a cast of teachers who advance the plot and set the player tasks. The multiplayer aspect of Escape Academy also makes the game more of a social experience, though there is no competitive multiplayer mode.
