Erg Dude is a fun app that allows users to play a game with or without a Concept2 rowing machine equipped with a PM5 monitor. The game is designed to be played on Concept2 Rowing Machines with PM5 monitors that have wireless capability turned on.

To connect to the PM5 monitor, users need to press the "More Options" button and then enable the wireless feature. After that, they can scan for available devices and select their monitor's identification number to establish a connection.

The goal of the game is to score as many points as possible within the given time limit. Players start rowing, and the game begins. After each stroke, Erg Dude, the game character, will jump. Players can collect coins to score 5 points, but they need to avoid bombs, which deduct 1 point.

There are power-ups available in the game as well. Collecting lightning bolts will double the score for a short period of time, while picking up the smart grenade will destroy all the bombs on the screen, allowing for more coin collection. Players can also fire a shot to clear bombs by picking up the laser gun power-up.

The game difficulty can be adjusted in the settings screen. When the difficulty is increased, players need to pull harder to make Erg Dude jump.

It's worth noting that Erg Dude can also be played without a Concept2 rower. The free version of the app offers game times of 1 or 2 minutes. However, users can make in-app purchases to unlock longer game times, ranging from 1 to 8 minutes or even up to 20 minutes. Additionally, the in-app purchases also provide a selection of different game backgrounds for players to choose from.
