ePIC is an electronic version of the Safe Work Pack (SWP), a paper-based system used to document, manage and distribute safe work packages (SWP) to workers.

This electronic version allows the PIC to view, edit, manage and electronically sign safe work packs on their device. It can also be used offline.

The app is based on a standard, the NEW Network Rail standard. It is a document-based system and the main purpose of the app is to allow the PIC to view, edit, manage and electronically sign safe work packs.

This is done by receiving a safe work pack from the desktop SWP application and allowing the PIC to view, edit, manage and sign the pack on their device.
