What is Employee Provident Fund?

Employee Provident Fund (EPF) is a voluntary employee savings scheme that offers a yearly income of up to 15% of your gross salary. The purpose of this scheme is to help the employees save money for their retirement. This is an important step towards the financial independence of the employees. The money is deposited in a special account, and the employees can withdraw it at any time. The entire process is handled by the employer.

EPF Eligibility:

In order to be a part of the EPF scheme, you need to be between the ages of 18 to 50 years. You must be working in a private or public sector, and you must have worked for at least one year in the last five years.

Your employer must contribute 12% of the employee's gross salary. You must have a valid UAN number.
