The main goal of this handshake is to accurately determine when your computer system becomes idle or locked, which in turn updates your Engage presence status from "Online! Chat Now" to offline. This prevents you from appearing online when you have stepped away from your computer terminal. In addition to monitoring system idle status, Engage Helper can also track keyboard and mouse events to determine inactivity and set you to away or offline status after a pre-determined amount of time, which is set to 1 minute (60 seconds) by default.
