Elevate is an educational application developed by Elevate Labs. Free to download and use, this brain training program aims to improve brain functions, including attention, speaking skills, processing speed, memory, and math skills. It comes with daily training in the form of games, making learning fun. 

Elevate has the same premise as Lumosity, although they differ in designs and goals since it focuses on improving writing, reading, and listening skills. However, while the app offers engaging training, it assumes a high level of prior knowledge. Additionally, it does not contain resources to build such knowledge or reflect wrong answers. 

What is Elevate?

Elevate is an app that uses simple games to hone the users' skills of rapid recall and processing. The app offers daily training that includes three new games. Each game aims to test a different language skill. Each also comes with an entertaining pace that suits a younger audience. Moreover, the content being tested is solid. After each game, users will receive a ranking that indicates their performance. 

Unlike Lumosity, which is minimal and understated, Elevate has a loud and colorful interface. The game also uses moving cartoon-like objects, such as a flock of birds, spaceships, and nesting dolls, to show your progress. The program also relies on either spoken or written text instead of shapes and patterns. With this, the app seemed more like a mobile game rather than a training tool. 

However, while the app is fun, it requires high-level English grammar knowledge and vocabulary before using it. With this, the game will be difficult for non-English proficient. Even worse, there is little chance to reflect and review your answers to avoid giving wrong answers next time. And while it ranks you with other players, it does not tally the overall score for your daily training sessions. 

Should you use the app?

Ultimately, Elevate offers a fun way to hone your brain functions. The app comes with engaging games that change daily to provide challenges. Moreover, it has a colorful and cartoon-like design that makes learning more entertaining. However, to enjoy using the app, you must have a good grasp of the English language. Additionally, as with other brain training apps, it may not achieve the training you are looking for.
