Edge of Memories is a role-playing game. It immerses players into a compelling and emotional action-driven narrative set in the beautifully ravaged continent of Avaris, afflicted by the horrific Corrosion. You take control of Eline, a resilient young nomad whose life drastically changes upon discovering her innate ability to control the devastating plague within her own body.  

In Edge of Memories, this revelation becomes both a gift and a burden, propelling Eline into fierce battles alongside trusted allies Ysoris, an enigmatic mentor, and Kanta, a proud shaman prince. The gameplay seamlessly combines intense combat with deep storytelling.

In Edge of Memories, players engage in adrenaline-filled battles against grotesque, Corrosion-mutated foes, utilizing powerful combo-driven mechanics that emphasize both speed and strategic depth. The ability to chain rapid strikes, seamlessly switching between special techniques and devastating Berserker transformations, delivers highly satisfying and visceral combat encounters. Allies significantly enhance combat, their customizable abilities strategically used to alter the flow of battles and deliver decisive blows. 

Avaris, beautifully rendered using Unreal Engine 5, is breathtakingly detailed and inspired by vibrant Japanese animation aesthetics. From sandy shores to snow-capped peaks, each environment vividly portrays the devastating impact of the Corrosion, immersing players into a world balancing beauty and tragedy. Exploration remains rewarding, aided by the Nekaroo, a feline companion offering swift traversal across expansive terrains, uncovering hidden paths and immersive storytelling elements. 

The game sets itself apart with its emotional depth and meticulously crafted narrative. Each quest holds significance, contributing meaningfully to the overarching story and character development. The rich relationships between Eline and her companions create an emotional connection, making every battle feel impactful. It’s enhanced by a superb soundtrack from acclaimed composer Yasunori Mitsuda and vocalist Emi Evans as well. However, the difficulty curve may feel steep initially.
