What is eChallan?

A eChallan is a ticket issued by a police officer or a sheriff, informing the driver that they have broken the law. These tickets can be used as evidence in a court. The law in question is the law of road traffic. In some countries, like India, these are also known as challans.

Why do we need eChallan?

A number of reasons.

1. The first is that it is illegal to drive without one. So, by issuing a ticket, we hope the driver will be aware that they are breaking the law.

2. The second reason is that it makes the driver and their vehicle safer. When you receive a ticket, you are entitled to a court hearing. This gives you a chance to prove your innocence.

3. The third reason is that it helps the driver to earn money. If they pay the fine, they can get their license back.

4. The last reason is that it helps the police to earn some money.
