Earthquake Monitor allows users to browse earthquakes in the past 24 hours or 30 days. Users can view earthquakes on a map or in data feed mode, with the option to filter by magnitude using a slider. The app offers push notifications for earthquakes globally or at up to four custom locations, allowing users to set cutoff magnitudes and radii for each monitored location.

Users can set a custom location in feed mode to find recent earthquakes closest to that location and view distances for all earthquakes relative to it. Tapping on an earthquake reveals details such as depth and "Felt By" numbers. Additionally, users can access more information by jumping to the USGS event webpage or plotting cities near the epicenter with populations.

The app features a Today View Widget for quick access to earthquakes in the past hour, a watchOS app for viewing past hour earthquakes with zoomable maps, and a Recent Earthquake News section where users can find news from various sources tagged by state alphabetically.
