Mod for tweaking Dying Light
Dying Light Manager is a free-to-use utility that lets you tweak in-game settings for the survival-horror video game, Dying Light. Created by CreeperLite, it allows players to toggle options not included in the base game. Among the parameters you can alter are lighting, in-game elements like the clouds, and intro videos. You can even disable the HUD and even the pigeons flying in the background.
Its small file size, easy installation and use, and the ability to modify the game make Dying Light Manager a good tool. However, this mod has its own issues, such as being flagged as malware.
Adding Dying Light Manager to the base game is quite easy to do. The installer is only 1.6MB and comes in an executable file format. Running the app, however, requires you to enable the Run as Administrator option to allow it to install fully and properly. Once done, the app will ask you to update the software, click Cancel, and you can start using it.
The options available with the mod are divided into four sections. The game defaults include lighting, clouds, and HUD options, letting you toggle options like floating particles, clouds, and lens flare. You can even disable clouds for a clearer view of the sky. Start Commands cover game initiation settings like intros and subtitles. There are also options under the Boosts/ Misc. and Extras sections.
Still, installing this app requires caution. For one, installing the app and clicking on the update turns it into a bugged version that conflicts with the existing game. Additionally, users have reported the mod being flagged as malware by system antivirus software. This, however, remains unresolved and is an intermittent issue, affecting only some users. Beyond these issues, the app works well with the original Dying Light game.
Whether you’re after optimizing Dying Light, or just after unique experiences like running with no clouds, shadows, or pigeons in sight, then the Dying Light Manager is the tool for you. It’s convenient and easy to set up, although some systems experience problems with the software—either by compatibility or by being flagged as malware. Still, should you get it to work, it lets you tweak the game in new directions.
