Drive Explorer is a free Chrome add-on developed by Cabbage Corp that allows users to conveniently access and manage their Google Drive files. With this add-on, you can view your Drive files in a popup or in a side panel next to a document, making it easy to turn your browser into a note-taking app similar to OneNote, Evernote, or Notion.

The add-on offers a range of features to enhance your Google Drive experience. You can star, share, trash, rename, move, upload, and create files or folders, just as you would normally do in Google Drive. It also supports shared drives, allowing you to easily collaborate with others.

Drive Explorer provides a customizable interface with a dark or light theme option. You can search and sort your files, either globally or within specific sub-folders. The search feature allows you to perform both filename and full-text searches, making it easy to find the files you need. Home panels remember the last opened folder, saving you time and effort.

Additionally, Drive Explorer offers shortcuts to quickly access panels, search, and create new documents. It also allows you to open documents offline, provided you have the "Google Docs Offline" extension installed. Any offline actions, such as changing the folder color, will be automatically synced when the connection is restored.

While Drive Explorer offers a seamless Google Drive experience, there are a few limitations to be aware of. "Shared with me" files that were shared via a link and not by adding your email address cannot be removed using this add-on. Furthermore, turning links into chips or directly sharing in a document is not possible in the page mode (documents embedded alongside the panel).
